Hello, I don't have an answer but I do have a similiar problem. I upgraded from XP Pro to Windows 7 Pro 32 bit on my netbook.
I created a bootable USB, copied the windows 7 files onto it and everything worked OK. However, when I bootup I also get the Boot Manager screen offering me 2 options: Windows 7 Windows setup (EMS enabled) which goes ahead and boot into Windows 7 after a countdown. Why would I ever want to boot into Winsdows setup? I would like to know if there is a proper way to bypass this boot manager screen. When I was installing the upgrade, I did see a small 40mb partition which was 'reserved by the OEM' which I could not use, is that anything to do with it? Installed 7 Home Premium upgrade over XP on Dell netbook. On reboot, option appears to start either Windows 7 or Windows Setup [EMS Enabled]. Windows 7 is highlighted and loads properly after either the requisite seconds tick off or I hit enter. Windows 7 EMS Enabled install problem i am trying to dual boot between windows xp pro and windows 7 ultimate (FULL NOT UPGRADE). I first installed xp with all drivers and updates, then installed windows 7. When booting from windows 7 cd i booted as usual and was confornted with 'EMS ENABLED' as the only menu option.
It could have been deleted, but it does not cause any problems. In fact the new OS, probalby deleted the contents. Windows Setup EMS Enabled If you see this as a startup option when booting from the DVD then it probably means you pressed the space bar or the enter key more than once when instructed to “press any key to boot from the DVD”.
Another thing that can trigger its appearance is if the DVD setup detects an unbootable previous install of Vista somewhere on the hard drive. If you just press Enter then setup will continue as normal.
The letters EMS mean in this instance Emergency Management Services and it is a function for use with Windows server. Whether it can be used with a standard Vista OS I do not know and I cannot find any Microsoft comment on this. Also see 'Space bar is the new F8' I really don't know, but I would guess that booting to EMS will cause a setup to appear for the purpose of restoring/repairing your installation.

Ok first the system crashed, called tech support and was told to just re-install using the boot disk. Alright worked, everything is fine. Two days later my system crashed again. Again called tech, this time I was told it was a bad fax/modem card. So, I removed the card and re-installed. Again, two days later system carshed a third time. Once again talk to tech, started to install OS when system locked up.
Was told by tech that would they would have to transfer me to next level support (using instant chat). Later got a call from tech support that someone would call me later on (they did but was unable to pick up).
